I'd recommend using the Intronix LogicPort LA1034.
No deep memory but you get excellent sample compression (transitional sampling) and superior 2-level triggering makes it easy to capture the logic state that you want to see. Install the mature and intuitive software in a virtual machine and run in demo mode to read the professionally written user manual. Click Help. To my knowledge there is no separate manual.pdf unfortunately. Good luck.

The software has been improved since my post and I recently tried it out. They did not add an edge trigger option, which is the biggest annoyance for me. I haven't tried any of the comparable options, so I can not speak to how this unit compares, but I would probably find something a little more mature if I were to do it again.

Hi!
Your writing was interesting, because I myself am considering buying this device. Has the software been improvements in recent times? Did corruption of the signal only 'large' clock frequencies? Has had problems with ~ 20-50 MHz clock frequencies? How well the software is compatible onewire / SPI /custom bus analysis? Would you recommend buying the device?
